House System
At Hodge Hill Girls’ School, our House System was launched in the 2021/2022 academic year, alongside the introduction of our School Council. The House System plays a vital role in building a community, encouraging healthy competition, and developing leadership across the school.
We have five House Groups, each named after a trailblazing woman whose achievements reflect the values we strive to uphold: resilience, ambition, courage, creativity, and justice. These figures were chosen for their global impact, inspirational journeys, and enduring legacies.

Pupil Leadership
Pupils in each house have the opportunity to become House Captains and House Leaders, important leadership roles that help shape school life.
-
House Captains take on a school-wide leadership role, representing their house across all year groups. They lead events, competitions, and act as the pupil's voice, helping to create a vibrant school community. Captains are selected through a written application and are awarded a badge and certificate, a valuable addition to college applications and future opportunities.
-
House Leaders represent their individual year group within their house. They work alongside Captains and staff to coordinate events and champion their peers.
Through our House System, pupils develop leadership, collaboration, and pride in being part of a wider community that celebrates achievement and positive values.
